Delete your account and data
How to remove your Tabito account, what happens to your data, and what to do if you cannot open the app.
Deleting is permanent. It cannot be undone. Export your data first if you want a copy.
Delete your account in the app
- Open Tabito and sign in.
- On Home, tap your profile circle at the top right. This opens Settings.
- Tap your name at the top of Settings. This opens Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Optional: tap Export my data first to get an Excel, CSV or PDF copy.
- Type
DELETEin the box and tap Delete my account. - If asked, confirm that it is you: with a Sign in with Apple or Google prompt, or by entering a new code sent to your email if you sign in by email code.
You need an internet connection. If something goes wrong, the app tells you and leaves your account as it was, so you can try again. When it finishes you are signed out and the app is reset.
What is deleted, and when
Everything below is deleted straight away when the process completes:
- On our servers: your trips, itinerary days, expenses, refunds, wallet and card entries, bookings, document records, journal entries, notes, videos and profile settings.
- Your sign-in account itself. If you signed in with Apple, Tabito also asks Apple to disconnect it, as part of the deletion.
- On the phone: all data Tabito stores there, including settings, documents kept offline or stored only on the phone, voice notes, cached rates and scheduled reminders.
What is not deleted by the button
- Files in your own Google Drive. These belong to you and stay where you stored them. To remove them, delete the files that Tabito created in your Google Drive yourself. Tabito can see only the files it created in Google Drive.
- Files you exported or shared out of the app, such as spreadsheets and PDFs you saved elsewhere.
- A few small server records that the app cannot delete from the phone: hashed sign-in code records (they expire after 10 minutes) and, if purchases are ever switched on, trip allowance and purchase records. They contain no trip content, and we erase them on request by email.
- Anonymous usage and crash reports already sent to Google, which they keep for their own retention period. They are not linked to your name or trips.
- Apple purchase records, if you ever buy something, are held by Apple under Apple's own policies.
- Copies in routine backup systems of our cloud provider can take a while to clear.
We keep no copy of your trips, expenses, documents or profile for our own use after deletion.
If you cannot open the app
Lost your phone, or cannot sign in? Email support@tabitoapp.com with the subject "Delete my Tabito account". Write from the email address on the account, and tell us how you sign in (Apple, Google or email code). We may ask you a question or two to make sure the request is from the account owner, and we will confirm when the account and data have been deleted. Please do not send passwords or other secrets.
Disconnect Tabito from Apple or Google
- Apple: on your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, Sign-In & Security, Sign in with Apple, choose Tabito and tap Stop Using Apple Account.
- Google: in your Google Account open Security, then third-party apps and services (or "Your connections to third-party apps"), choose Tabito and remove access. This also ends the Google Drive permission.
